Her name is Uduak, and it is a name that means “Resolve.” From Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria. Call her an enigmatic song writer and a mesmerizing performer. Call her a psalmist. Call her a prophetic singer. Call her many things-in-one. Her extraordinary versatility positions her as an “eclectic” brand in the music world. Her life and music are influenced by her crusading passion for souls. She deliberately and artfully weaves the word (gospel) into her music. And what you see is a creative blend of the pulsating African rhythm and the classic flavour of soul: a marriage of inter-continental “tangs” of tunes.
That’s why Uduak is the perfect artist for this occasion. WEN has involved the students in Udauk’s performance. The organization has arranged for a workshop with Uduak at local schools. The workshop is open to all students. Selected students will perform with Uduak on stage and the dance will also be featured in the play. The workshop will enable them to make their costumes, which they will wear for the dance and play. The objective of this workshop is to provide a unique opportunity to expose their minds to the endless boundaries through their art expressions.
