I prefer the class not hold Valentine’s Day activities at all because I believe it has a dark origin.
My child may stay in the classroom, but should not take part in exchanges/activities (observe only).
I don’t know how to communicate my preference about Valentine’s Day with my child’s school, so for that reason I’ll have to compromise and let my child participate in his or her class’s valentine activities.
My child’s school should create and take him/her to an alternate supervised space/classroom during Valentine’s Day activities.
I understand other parents do not share my preference, so I’m comfortable with a neutral “kindness/friendship” activity as long as it is not Valentine-themed.
